Secrets of Audience Engagement- Part 2 of 3

Welcome to part 2 of my three part series of important tricks for maintaining a high level of engagement with your audience so they’re excited to learn more about you.

  1. Be Authentic

Try to be as upfront with your viewers as possible. Let them see you in your environment. They want to learn more about you and they don’t want to discover something contrary to the video when they meet you in person. Although it’s important to have good organization and thoughtful content for your video, don’t read word for word from a script while on camera. This is especially true for non professional on-camera talent. Let your viewers see and hear from you naturally, delivering your information in a conversational and genuine way. And be sure to give careful consideration to the environment behind you featuring your most attractive and interesting areas while delivering your message.

  1. Educate Your Viewers

Keep in mind that many of your viewers already know about you and your organization. They’re your current customers or clients and with any relationship they always want to learn more. Keep providing new tips and information that further demonstrates your area of expertise. This builds trust with your existing clientele and it creates social proof of what you can provide for new clients. Use cut away shots to support your information, it’s more engaging and seeing is believing. You can also provide statistics or graphical content that help to support your message, providing emphasis to your key points. Continuing to educate your viewers maintains a high level of engagement, helps you to stay top of mind, and reinforces the trust they have in you and the services that you provide.
